Timber Kinder Garden

St Ninians Place, Seaton

Aberdeen Nursery

Timber Kinder Garden Nursery offers a warm welcoming atmosphere. We aim to give your child the best quality of care and deliver the best play and learning experiences for your child. We have two rooms within this nursery. The buzzy bee room which is for children 0-2 and the butterfly room which is for children  2-5. Staff will record observations of your child's development on our Interactive Learning Diary system (ILD). This is done using tablets on a fully secure system which only staff and you can access. Parents can view their own child's progress on the ILD. You can watch videos, look at pictures and read all about what your child gets up to at nursery.

The buzzy Bee RoomAberdeen Nursery

Age 0-2

Staff ratios

We operate a maximum 1 staff member to 3 children ratio in the buzzy bee room. Each child will be allocated to a key worker who will have special responsibility of your child's learning and development. The staff in the buzzy bee's will talk with you on a one to one about your child's day from the daily diary your child is given when started with us.  They will discuss your child's progress and anything special that happened during the day. Please feel free to mention anything (big or small) that you would like us to look out for and help your child with.

Stimulation

We encourage our younger children to be playful and inquisitive at each stage of their development.  Of course, there is a big difference between a baby who is 3 months and a child who is nearly 2, so we make sure that each child's experience is customised around their age ability and personality so that they have fun and are challenged appropriately. In the Buzzy bee room we follow the Pre-birth to three curriculum and plan for children's development around us.

Sleep Time

When our children are tired and need a nap, we have a Comfortable and quiet sleep room.  While the children are asleep staff will check up on the children every 10 minutes and record this on the daily sleep sheet and in your child's daily diary. There is also a temperature egg within the sleep room to ensure it is always kept at the appropriate temperature, we also have a monitor connecting to the play room to ensure we hear the children at all times. Each child is given their own bedding, at the end of your child's session your child's bedding will be stored in their own sleep bag. Once your child has finished their week at nursery we will wash your child's bedding with sensitive non bio washing powder.

Stimulation

We encourage our 2-5's children to learn through play and plan for each stage of their development, providing stimulating and exciting activities to engage their interest and imagination. Of course, there is a difference between a 2 year old and a 4 year old so all activities are deigned to be adaptable so that all children can join in. We are in partnership with Aberdeen city council to deliver the curriculum for excellence. When your child turns 3 years old your child will be entitled to pre school funding. We can give you full advice on this if you have any queries.
